The new XTR Race Brake produces 110% of the power of its predecessors, but in a lighter package. Completely re-engineered ergonomic lever pivots make for confident, one-finger braking without the torturous squeals. Shimano also addressed the problem of heat build-up through their IceTech features which include aluminum-core rotors, stock aluminum-backed brake pads, and the full-ceramic caliper piston designed to dump heat while maintaining consistent power.
